The Samaritans is a Hong Kong 24-Hour Multi Lingual Suicide Prevention Hotline that provides confidential emotional support to all people, irrespective of race, creed, age or status, who are despairing or suicidal.

They operate a 24-hour hotline service in English and Cantonese, although amongst their volunteers they may have speakers of other languages and dialects. They also operate an email service, which is currently available only in English.

Even Centre

Established in 2003, the Even Centre provides counselling services around gambling addiction. Group counselling and financial management services are also provided.

Recovery Works

Residential and after-care treatment for alcohol or other drugs such as heroin, cocaine and ecstasy. Treatment is safe, confidential and designed around the patient's specific needs.

HK Dept of Health AIDS Unit

Counselling and medical services for those who seek treatment and/or advice on HIV and sexually transmitted diseases. The Kowloon Bay Integrated Treatment Center (KBITC) provides a comprehensive prevention and treatment program for HIV in Hong Kong.

KELY, which stands for Kids Everywhere Like You, is a wonderful organization for kids (Chinese and English speaking) to empower themselves with skills and tools that reduce the risk of substance abuse and other challenges teens face today. Interactive workshops, after school programs and special events allow kids to "hang out" in a safe, confidential and positive peer influence setting.

Alcoholic Anonymous

Started in 1969, the Hong Kong AA program continues to grow in its importance for alcoholics, their families and friends, and the community-at-large in a non-medical treatment model for those who desire to stop their alcohol abuse through group meetings and the use of the 12 Step Program.
