Our Mission and
Vision
SJCS mission is "to empower the human spirit towards greater awareness in
making choices for growth and happiness." Our mission is derived from over
20 years of research, clinical experience, and principles from positive
psychology whereby a balance is sought after in our counselling sessions
with empowering our clients to i) better understand and reduce their anguish (i.e.
the unpleasant emotions and thoughts) and ii) learn and
practice optimal thinking, engage in healthy behaviors, and
experience positive feelings (i.e. the happy life).
SJCS vision is "to become
recognized and valued in the community-at-large as a preferred resource for
personal growth and counselling with individuals, families, schools and
organizations in need." Hong Kong is not only Asia's World City because of its
global role in trade and commerce, but today Hong Kong's multi-cultural
community has also recognized the value and importance counselling can provide
to the community to strike a balance between work and life. Today at SJCS we are
currently developing Quality of Work-Life programs (QWL) for businesses and
organizations across the territory to strengthen the families and communities of
Hong Kong so our city can continue to be a wonderful and successful experience to live and work
in.
